WELCOME TO CHALET HOTEL TERRIL BLANC!

We are delighted to continue to offer the Terril Blanc as one of our popular Chalet Hotels with its blend of chalet conviviality and additional features such as our Culinary Choices at dinner, its own lounge-bar, and our baby-listening service in the evenings.

Last year we added a Children’s Games Room on the lower ground floor, aimed at giving unaccompanied children their own place, beyond just the bar and lounge. This is open during a set period in the late afternoon and early evening, with a range of indoor games and toys plus a TV/DVD player. A staff member will supervise the room and its equipment but will not be there to ‘baby sit’ the children.

Another popular innovation last winter was the choice of menu for children at high tea, served at 5.30pm. In the same way that parents are asked to select their evening’s choices at breakfast time, children will be offered alternative choices including home-made healthy options as well as standard children’s favourites.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

The location could not be better, with main ski-lifts accessing both sides of the valley within 400m, a ski-bus stop just outside, the village centre of Tignes-le-Lac just a few minutes walk away, and glorious views over the lake itself. All the main communal rooms and most bedrooms look out across the lake to the spectacular mountain face known as ‘The Fingers’, named after the narrow couloirs and ridges running down it. The mountainside is illuminated at night with a gentle, ethereal glow, and on clear moonlit nights the view is still more sensational.

SKI AREA ACCESS

The Terril Blanc is ideally situated to access the central area of the Espace Killy, via the Aeroski gondola up to Tovière and then on to Val d’Isère. The south-facing slopes of L’Aiguille Percée are equally close by, up the Palafour chairlift. Here the half pipes and jumps of the Snow Park can be enjoyed and the superb black run, Sache, down to Tignes Les Brevières can be tackled by the adventurous!

Our ski-hire service, especially for Terril Blanc guests, adds to your overall ski enjoyment as it offers you the chance to select skis and poles at our partner shop just 300m away, fit all the family’s boots and bindings, and then stroll back to the hotel, whilst your labelled equipment is delivered for you direct to the Terril Blanc ski-room.

COMFORTABLE HOTEL FACILITIES

The dining-room is spacious and comfortable with fantastic views across the frozen lake, and is fronted by a terrace running the length of the hotel, which on sunny afternoons is one of the best vantage points in Tignes to watch the sun go down with your choice of après-ski drink!

The 22 guest bedrooms include twins, doubles and triples and are furnished in a mixture of styles, all with plenty of storage space, and most bedrooms will also take a cot. Importantly, all bedrooms benefit from private en suite bathrooms, mostly with separate en suite wc.

EVENING CHILD CARE SERVICE

Cocoa Club is open to all children from 6-12 years, and runs from 7.30 to 10.00pm in the Snow Club room in Chalet Grand Ski. Our staff will collect and return children from and to the hotel. Parents may then put children to bed, returning if they wish to the lounge / bar for a further hour, as our free baby-listening patrol runs until 11.00pm.
